Schedule App
This schedule was designed for a staffing platform that empowers workers by allowing them to choose when and where they work and get paid directly through the application. The schedule in app shows the user's scheduled jobs, allows them to clock in/out, and adjust time.
Previous version
The Problem
The current schedule page was difficult to navigate, especially when workers need to go back a few days to make time adjustments. Workers also had difficulty discovering the overflow menu which is vital for canceling shifts and notifying the workplace.
The Team
This was a very slim team at a startup.

Design & Technology
This app was built in a web platform called Ionic. This allowed us to display the app on iOS and Android, but only maintain one application.
The goal was to make this as natural feeling as possible while still providing all of the necessary interactions in a simple way that doesn’t feel overwhelming.
We knew from support calls that workers had difficulty understanding when they clocked in/out so we wanted to display a timeline that shows all of their activity.
The Process
This was a fast paced project with a slim team so work moved quickly and many educated assumptions needed to be made during the design phase.
Research
Met with support to understand the primary issues with the schedule and time adjustment interactions

Users
Our user base generally wasn’t very tech savvy and ages ranged from 30 - 75 years old.
Time
Projects at a startup typically move very quickly with limited resources so we didn’t have much time for upfront research.
